IDEA AND INSPIRATION

The plot, in the village of Vääna-Jõesuu in Harku municipality, is located in the area of former summer cottages with natural beauty. The designed building will be built in the higher part of the property with abundant greenery, with a view of the afternoon and evening sun as well as the falling landscape. Long views of the garden and natural light can be enjoyed from all rooms, the sauna, as well as while spending time on the terrace. In terms of volume, the building is divided into three smaller blocks, emphasizing their different functions and following the building scale which is specific to the area.

The ascending journey from the parking area to the main entrance of the house leads solemnly through a well-kept garden landscape. The spacious entrance wardrobe serves as an intermediate space between the bedroom block and the living room. There are two children's bedrooms with a bathroom on the first floor. The parents' bedroom has been moved to a more private second floor, where there is also a separate cabinet with storage spaces. A spacious kitchen-living room with a higher ceiling is the heart of the building, with views in all four directions. From the living room you can directly step onto the outdoor terrace, which is also connected to the sauna block. In addition to the sauna room with a corner window that opens to the evening sun, there is also a large bathroom and a storage room.

The facades facing the street and the neighbors are more closed and therefore private. The exterior finish of the articulated building volume mainly uses light-colored wood and sheet steel, which is accented by a dark gray facade board. The footpath leading to the main door is illuminated with low bollard lights, the lights placed in the canopies highlight the entrances to the building.
