SUBJECT MATTER I ON ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE
1. ,,Every work of art offers joy. Sadness does not become a work of art. Everything is based on the ability to feel joy.’’
2. ,,The form never follows the function, but instead directs it by framing the relationships between the elements of the function. The form has no shape or dimensions; it is not what is seen; it is only the beginning of what will be seen hereafter. Only through design does the form become feasible, functional.’’
3. "The decline of our cities and the environment, as far as architecture is concerned, is mainly caused by large architectural firms that are indifferent to the value and nature of true architecture. Separated from urban planning and designing, it simply pushes aside young talented architects who do not recognize such employment relationships.
It is clear that some major changes should be made, which would help make the morals and beliefs of political leaders more receptive to the wishes of the people. Today's cities are at their crossroads: the sense of direction has disappeared. The submitted and implemented transformation plans and traffic schemes are only corrections based on incorrect assumptions and disregard for city life.’’
4. ,,An architect can express the nature and system of his artistry only if he considers the problem as part of a whole. Exiled into niches of specialization, he becomes one of many collaborators, begins to design only parts of the whole, and offers the world nothing but solutions due to random circumstances.
An architect's immersion in the nature of a building or other proposed object is deeper if he acts more in times of desire than in times of need.
Architectural practice is what gives the creator – artist, architect or engineer - the ability to predict the outcome of their work.’’
