IDEA AND INSPIRATION

The designed summer house and sauna house are similar in appearance and work together as a unified whole. The two-storey summer house with the possibility of accommodation is larger, both in terms of volume and building surface. The sauna house repeats an analogous form in a smaller, single-storey volume.

Both buildings are designed on a wooden structure and are covered with a wooden board on the outside, which on the sides is illustrated by an alternating metal grid and wooden board. Architecturally, the buildings have a similar form, but they differ in volume. Next to the existing farm architecture are forms that were designed using modern architectural language, which constitute as an entity on its own. The connections of the stairs and terraces create an unified overall picture of the outdoor space. The longer sides of the building are mostly closed and with modest openings, the larger light-emitting glass surfaces face northwest and the sea.
